The Hypocrisy of the U.S.

The hypocrisy of the U.S. knows no bounds. In 2012 we helped depose the Ukranian government to replace it with one that was more friendly to the West; a government described by both liberals and conservatives as one of the most corrupt on the planet as late as November 2021. The Russians responded in 2014 by invading and annexing the Crimean section of Ukraine. Our response was to "sanction" Russia while continuing to buy its oil and, at the same time, providing weapons to Ukraine to fight Russia. Sound familiar?

Today, after Russia invades Ukraine, we " sanction" Russia while, you guessed it, continuing to buy Russian oil and providing weapons to the Ukraine. Additionally, the U.S. has chastised its European allies for wanting to purchase Russian natural gas. On top of it all, the very Ukranian government the U.S. has described as grossly corrupt since it was installed in 2014, is now lionized as some heroic figure.

If you feel compassion for the citizens of Ukraine, I certainly understand. I do too. But, the plot they are caught up in is one the U.S. has helped create and ensure that it continues by supporting both sides of the conflict. Perhaps hypocritical is not a strong enough description. How about evil?
